Cure or Control for Sinus/Allergy Problems?

Question:
I am 22yo and have inherited terrible allergy and sinus problems. My main problem is not sinus pressure or nasal congestion, both of which I rarely ever have, but sinus drainage. I haven't found anything that helps it in anyway, much less cures it. Is it possible to cure this problem and if so, what would others suggest I do/take for it. I have been considering grape seed extract, bee pollen, and massive doses of vitamin c. Can anyone give me any advice?

Answer:
I suggest going through the resources on the following web page: http://www.holisticmed.com/conditions/allergies.html While you may find a particular short-term solution like bee pollen, etc., I suggest also looking at the techniques and changes that will help promote a more permanent change. Most of the techniques discussed on the above-mentioned web page (and linked pages) are things others have found useful. I have severe allergies at one time. (My face was covered with a handkerchief through much of high school. :-) What helped me over time was: Eliminating dairy foods (and dairy proteins such as caseine, whey), reducing amounts of flour products, and cutting down on cold fruit juices and very cold drinks. Moving towards a balanced diet without fake foods. Avoiding allergy triggers in a relaxed way. After I did this, my immune system was not going "crazy" constantly. From there, techniques that helped me relax (yoga), accept (meditation), and open up to sitauations and feelings (body-oriented emotional techniques and structural techniques) led to a more permanent change. I still have a tendency to fall back into old habits on ocassion and reactions to previous allergens help remind me when that happens. Why fight the symptoms - Go Straight to the Cause - Our Immune System I had a severe allergy to almost everything, food, hair, dust, pollen, all my life. Then I learned that Dr. McDaniels and Dr. McNealey discovered the eight basic building blocks needed for the immune system fight desease and heal the body. We only get two in our diets. After eight years of extensive medical testing ,these natural molecules have had significant results in helping the body to heal itself of Asthma and Allergies. Build up your immune system. Take antioxidants. Pycnogenol has been the most broadspectrum until the recent introduction of Enzogenol (from researchers at University of Canterbury in New Zealand).
