allergy relief needed at 33 weeks ?

Question:
Are there any ok antihistamines for the last 6-7 weeks? I'm due late October and that's about when the ragweed season ends around here. So on top of waking up with leg cramps, to pee, and when I'm getting pummeled from within overnight, now I'm waking up sneezing and sniffling. Of course each time I sneeze I have to pee, too. I was hoping some pregnancy miracle would lessen my September/October allergies, but no such luck. My last two pregancies I made do with Afrin, sudaphed and tylenol for various symptoms, but nothing helps the itching eyes/nose/sneezing. During non-pregnant/nursing years I've used claritin (loratidine) but I haven't checked that out yet. My OB isn't particularly sympathetic. Any suggestions? safe natural remedies? I'm trying to keep in air conditioning, stay inside etc. but with 4 and 6 y.o. sons running around it's not easy.

Answer:
I am 34 weeks with my 3rd also. I was miserable with my first 2 pregnancies from allergies. This time around, my new OB prescribed Zyrtec and promised the safety of it during pregnancy. I have been on it since around 15 weeks. It works wonders for me! I couldn't stay held up in the house...I have 2 year old and 4 year old boys myself. It might be worth asking your OB. I'm suffering along with you. I found that washing the sheets every
2-3 days helps me alot. If DH does any outdoor work, he's forced straight into the shower. Several big boxes of tissues with lotion helps with the red nose. And my contact lenses have been put away for the season. I must live further north than you because our ragweed season started about a month ago and hopefully (fingers crossed) should end in the next few weeks. I've survived this long without drugs ..... I feel your pain. I will be TTC soon. My OB said zyrtec is fine. My allergy doctor said both claritin and zyrtec are OK but suggested that I try claritin first and if it does not work, then switch to zyrtec.
